In an effort to open our quilting spaces to quilters of lesser financial means, I’m happy to offer scholarships for 1-2 seats in each of my quilting workshops. I challenge your quilt guild members to reach out to your community and invite interested sewists for whom the cost of the quilting workshop would not be financially possible right now. I encourage you to accept applications on the honour system, and when selecting, try to focus on sewists from underserved and marginalized communities.

I will cover their tuition and pattern fee. I can also provide some appropriate fabric from my stash, though of course your quilt guild members are welcome to sponsor the fabric as well.

It is my hope that our quilting communities can start to expand our outreach efforts from simply raising funds and donating comfort items, to also inviting folks who aren’t “your typical quilter” into our events. We can all learn so much from each other!
