Glitch Along Week Four

It’s week 4!! Have you seen some of the amazing strip sets that were shared last week??

We’ve done a lot of prep work so far, but now we’re finally getting some blocks! And if you’re like me and still recovering from the first week of school, or if you need to catch up on last week’s strip piecing, you’ll be glad to know that this week is fairly light.

Schedule

Week 1: Pick your fabric, get your pattern, print your foundations, plan your coloring sheet
Week 2: Cut
Week 3: Make Thick Strip Sets
Week 4: Make Block 1s
Week 5: Make Thin Strip Sets
Week 6: Make Block 2s
Week 7: Make Blocks 3s & 4s
Week 8: Sew blocks into pairs
Week 9: Sew pairs into quadrants
Week 10: Finish quilt top

Make Block 1

Because our strip piecing is done, we’re making 16 half square triangles using our Thick Stripe Triangle Units for one half, and plain triangles for the other half.

Pin your triangles together (see the Block 1 Combination Table to know which goes with which), chain piece them along the stitch line on the foundation paper, press, and square up your blocks.

Giveaway!

This week’s prize is a gorgeous green bundle sponsored by Stache Fabrics & Notions!

Hello! Welcome to my Stache!
My name is Michaelanne and I am thrilled that’ll be a prize sponsor of the Glitch QAL.
I grew up in a home where I was always surrounded by some form of textile art … spinning, weaving, sewing, rug hooking, knitting. I guess you could say that I am a product of my environment. I can not remember a time when I was not doing something, usually some form of sewing. I have been quilting and working in the fabric retail industry for approximately 10 years. I am Mum to four young adult children and Gigi to two grandchildren, who I love to create for and spoil with ‘made with love’ treasures.
I love colour!  There I said it; got it out in the open.
I often find myself appreciating something for the colour of it and not for what it actually is. For example, this week I made strawberry jam and although the jam was very yummy, it was the deep red delicious colour that had me in awe the most. Colour has such a huge impact on the way we feel throughout our everyday activities and yet, we simply just do not pay enough attention. So, this is what I can promise about myStache … there will be colour, and lots of it! My aim is for myStache to be a colourful, modern and unique shopping experience for you. Hopefully a place where you will love to spend time getting project inspiration and bringing joy to your day.

Our prize consists of a beautiful bundle of 10 amazing Art Gallery Fat Quarters in an emerald colour-way, a large spool of 50wt matching Aurifil thread and a pot of Sew Fine Thread Gloss in Floop Floop scent. This bundle is everything you need to get your creative juices flowing, make something and be gloriously happy! Your quilty friends will be green with envy if you are the winner of this must have bundle!
